APGA speaks on Soludo ‘fighting IPOB’

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Saturday said Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State is not in conflict with the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), rather he is after eliminating criminality in his state.

POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that during his inauguration in March, Soludo urged IPOB and its armed wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN) to work with his administration in tackling insecurity in the state. Some people believe the separatist organisation is responsible for the mindless killings going on in southeast states.

But despite Soludo’s plea for peace, assailants have continued to launch attacks on both citizens and security agents.

Addressing journalists in Awka, Anambra State, the National Coordinator of the APGA Media Warriors Forum, Chinedu Obigwe, said, “Those behind the insecurity in Anambra state are not freedom fighters because freedom fighters don’t indulge in the suppression and oppression of those they are fighting for their freedom.

“Ndi Anambra should understand that Soludo is fighting for their liberation from the hands of wicked criminals.

“As for the governor, he will not rest on his oars until he achieves his desire of entrenching security of lives and properties in the state.”

  1. We advised Soludo before he was sworn in to steer clear of the mess his eastern predecessors made with respect to IPOB and governance in the east, that hindsight shows that clearly you cannot get solutions with bullets in d east but with dialogue and respect or sensitivity, but he rebuffed it all with an insensitive order on day #1 that workers who fail to show up on Mondays will be sacked or face gun on their salaries. We told him that instead of threat he should use rewards to stop sit-at-home, and a better reward would be first to question the rationale behind d proscription of IPOB by his predecessors with a view to “deproscribing” IPOB in Anambra State until existing evidence clearly establishes a nexus between terrorism and d group. He failed and now see the consequences; it is not even two weeks since he was sworn in as governor and his APGA is already explaining why it is not guilty of war against IPOB.
