BBNaija: Why I accepted to be a wild card -Maria

BBNaija housemate, Maria has revealed that she accepted to be a ‘Wild Card’ on the ongoing ‘Shine Ya Eye’ show because she was chosen.

During the Sunday live show, Maria alongside her male counterpart, Pere, were revealed as the wild cards in this year’s season. This was after the other housemates failed to name them.

This, however, spurred curiosity among the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ housemates, who queried her why she chose to be a wild card.

Explaining to the housemates in the garden, Maria said she was dressed up to be a real housemate before the organisers approached her to be a ‘Wild Card’.

Her words: “I was getting dressed and doing my makeup when I got the offer to be a wild card.

“I accepted the offer because they chose me and said I fit from everything they gathered.

“They said they have studied me and I fit the role.

“They said there’s 95% chance that I would not fuck it up and who am I not to trust their judgment they’ve been running this show for a while now. So I accepted the offer and came on stage.”

Politics Nigeria, however, understands that originally, the BBNaija housemates for each season should be 20. Although, to the surprise of the show’s viewers, 22 housemates were announced for this season’s show.

Revealing why 22 housemates were introduced to the house, the organisers said two of the housemates are actually fake contestants of the show, which means they are the ‘Wild Cards’.

Just like the fans, the housemates didn’t know the ‘Wild Cards’ among them and were supposed to nominate them for eviction just before the Sunday live show.

But after the housemates failed to nominate the ‘Wild Cards’ during their second diary session, Maria and Pere escaped the impending eviction and would contest alongside other housemates for the N90 million grand prize.
