Nigerian journalist Rufai Oseni has criticized the Nigeria Broadcast Commission (NBC) for what he calls “double standard.”
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Oseni took to Twitter on Thursday to express his disappointment in the NBC, which has yet to issue a statement regarding the role of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in the illegal declaration of the Adamawa gubernatorial election result.
Recall that the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa, had declared Binani the winner of the state election, which was covered by the government-owned media outlet, NTA.
Despite the swift denouncement of the purported declaration and suspension of the collation of results of the supplementary election by the electoral commission, Oseni alleges that the NBC has yet to issue any sanction, claiming that if it was another station, they would have been sanctioned the following day.
