Deji Adeyanju, a social commentator and a former Head of New Media for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to apologise to ‘the Umbrella Party’.
Adeyanju cited the present exchange rate of the dollar and pounds to the Nigerian naira, one which he finds unpleasant.
“$1 = N530
£1 = N720
Buhari must apologize to PDP,” the activist wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Friday.
Buhari has come under mounting pressure from critics as the country reels from economic challenges worsened by the Coronavirus pandemic, and multiple security crises that have claimed hundreds of lives in recent weeks. Persons like Adeyanju, Omoyele Sowore and Aisha Yesufu have continue to hit him hard on social media.
Buhari, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will leave office in 2023 – on completion of his second term in office.
Mr Deji dont try to fool the public please do you remember the exchange rate when the umbrella party came in to power it was N22 to $1and the umbrella party left it at about N272 to $1 if you will multiply N22 by 12.5 it will give you N275 and during this dispensation it did not even multiply by two
