The Department of state security, DSS has released a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Obadiah Mailafiya after he was invited over recent comments he made about Bandits/Boko Haram.
Mailafiya trended online after stating that the commander of the deadly Boko Haram sect was a serving Northern governor during an interview on Nigerian Info radio station on Sunday.
He was invited by the Department of State Security Services, DSS in Jos, Plateau state over the interview.
On Wednesday, Mailafia arrived at the DSS office located within West of Mines street around 12:30 pm in a Range Rover vehicle marked Abuja 843 LX.
He was immediately ushered into one of the offices alongside his lawyer, Pius Akubo, SAN while many others who came with him in solidarity were barred from entering the premises by operatives stationed at the entrance leading to the compound.
He was released a few minutes past 6 pm.
