BREAKING: FG to compensate property owners for Lagos-Calabar coastal highway

Minister of Works David Umahi has revealed that the federal government intends to disburse N2.75 billion in compensation to property owners affected by the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway construction demolition.

The announcement, made during a stakeholders meeting in Lagos on Wednesday, May 1, aimed to keep the public well-informed about the compensation plan.

Umahi disclosed that the highway’s construction will span from channel 0 to channel 3.

He further stated that additional compensation would be disbursed soon.

There have been outcries over the demolition exercise, but the minister assured those affected that they would be adequately compensated.

Umahi also berated the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for saying the project is not a priority.

Obi had asked the government to focus on roads that were in bad shape across the country.
