Lagos Court sentences 34 joggers for violating Lockdown

A court in Lagos state has sentenced 34 joggers to one month of community service and 14 days Quarantine for violating a social distancing order issued by the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu.

The joggers were sentenced after footage of them working out on Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway emerged online.

The court convicted the defendants following their plea of guilty to a one-count charge of working out in a group larger than 20 persons.

The court also ordered that the defendants be quarantined for 14 days at the Infectious Diseases Hospital Yaba or any other place designated by the government.
