The Presidency has denied report that President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Mr Mamman Daura, has fallen sick and flown out abroad for medical checkup.
It was widely reported that Mr Duara was flown to the United Kingdom in a private jet on Wednesday after showing respiratory difficulties and symptoms similar to Coronavirus since last Friday.
But a top presidency source said the President’s nephew actually travelled to the UK on a business trip and not for any health reason. He added that Mr Daura is in good health and will return after finishing his business deal.
He noted that the rumour that he was flown abroad was baseless and false.
He said: “Daura is fine and in good health. The rumour that he was flown abroad was baseless and false. He is in London for a business trip that was long-planned. Once he is done, he will return.”
Daura is the only remaining survivor among the close confidants of President Buhari following the death of Mallam Abba Kyari and Alhaji Isa Funtua some months ago.
