Hussaina Umar Na’Aaba, the younger sister of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’abba, has said her brother is well and alive.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the rumored death of the former lawmaker has been trending online since Thursday evening.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Hussaina denied the rumored death of her brother, claiming she spoke to the former Speaker a few moments ago on phone.
She said the former speaker has also debunked his death in a Facebook post.
“Na’abba is hale and hearty. He is observing his fasting together with his Muslim brothers. He is happy and strong.
‘’We heard about the rumour also but to God be the glory, he is hale and hearty,’’ she said.
Na’abba was elected Speaker between 1999-2003 after the resignation of Alhaji Salisu Buhari over certificate forgery.
