BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu’s case adjourned for judgement [See new date]

The case of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, at the Federal High Court for Umuahia, Abia State, has been adjourned until the 27th of October for judgement.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that IPOB is challenging the Federal Government of Nigeria over the arrest and extradition of Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria in June 2021.

Kanu is seeking N25 billion naira from Nigerian authorities as damages, among other requests.

During the court session on Tuesday, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the Special counsel to Kanu and IPOB, brought the United Nations (UN’s) charge to release his client unconditionally to the court’s notice.

“Until the respondents provide warrant of extradition or arrest, Kanu’s arrest remains highly illegal and unconstitutional,” Ejimakor said.

The legal practitioner also faulted the September 2017 military invasion of Kanu’s home, saying “If Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, his family and community were not harassed and scores killed in 2017 by the Nigerian military, we wouldn’t be here hearing cases.”

  1. Nigeria Government should have to pay more than 25billion for being foolish, so desperate and failing international principles and standard

  2. Nigerian government should be ready to face the consequences of not listening to the directives of the UN.

  3. Why are they keep on postponing all the time I think is the high time to give the final judgement towards kanu because that is the results you get once there is bad leadership in any country since Nigeria old steakets does not want to give us a good leadership I think this time they will be change of narrative #comes2023 make sure you vote out this very bad government.

  4. It’s cristal clear to everybody in this country that this young man is being hipocriticaly and unjustly held for no reasons at all. If not,why the delay on passing judgment on him of all the count charges? This is total denial of his rights of freedom, tantamount to suffocating one of the human rights provisions which is liable to penalty against this government. NIGERIA BE WISE and set NNAMDI KANU freeooooooooooooooo.
