The All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, from contesting the party’s gubernatorial primaries scheduled for June 22nd.
This development is coming shortly after Obaseki raised alarm early on Friday that his predecessor and national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomole was scheming to have him removed from the primaries.
It’s currently unclear the next line of action the embattled Edo governor will take. POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that Obaseki was disqualified because the certificate (Higher School Leaving Certificate) is not known to the law in Nigeria
It will be recalled that Obaseki who is seeking re-election had openly opposed the use of direct primary mode for the primary election against the wish of the party. The seven-man screening committee led by Prof. Jonathan Ayuba said the report is conclusive, adding that all members of the panel signed the report.
