BREAKING: Ohanaeze appoints Gowon to spearhead campaign for 2023 Igbo presidency

Pro-Igbo organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has selected former military head of state, Yakubu Gowon to spearhead negotiations for an Igbo Presidency in 2023.

According to a statement sent to POLITICS NIGERIA by the Ohanaeze youth council (OYC) signed by its president general, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Gen. Gowon (Rtd) has been “kept alive by God to cement Nigeria’s unity by facilitating the emergence of a president from Igbo stock”.

“Every Nigerian has the right to ascribe for the highest office in the land, but the Collective interests of Nigeria supersede the individual quests.”

“God had kept General Yakubu Gowon alive for the singular reason to Cement the Unity of Nigeria by advocating and Facilitating the emergence of Nigerian President of Igbo Stock in 2023, after 50 years after the Biafra War ended, failure to do so will undoubtedly affect the Unity of Nigeria.”

“A New Zik of Africa will be presented to Nigerians by 2021, Nigerians especially the youths will ensure that there will be a generational shift in 2023, as the next President of Nigeria will not be above 65years by 2023, Nigeria needs an energetic Person with Vigour to reactivate the full potentials of Nigeria as truly the Giant of Africa.” the statement read.

The group also revealed that it would be lobbying several top political stakeholders and aggressively canvassing for an Igbo Presidency after the coronavirus pandemic clears.

  1. I subscribe to that,I think is high time an Igbo man rule this country. to a large extent that will ease the tensions rocking the nation.
