A disturbing video showing policemen running over a man in handcuffs and dragging him through the road has surfaced on social media.
In the video seen by Politics Nigeria, a yet-to-be identified man was seen lying down in the middle of a road in Ekpoma, Edo State, as policemen in a blue unmarked SUV run over and dragged him under their vehicle.
The clip started with residents surrounding a stationary police vehicle with one door open.
The driver of the vehicle then drove forward with he surrounding crowd shouting and making attempts to stop the car.
Immediately the vehicle stopped moving, one of its occupants, a policeman, ran out and took to his heels leaving cuffed man under the vehicle.
The policemen began shooting to dispel the irate crowd, but the move is unsuccessful as they dragged the officers out of the vehicle to demonstrate their anger.
Reacting to the incident, Muyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, tweeted:
“This is unpolice[sic]. I don’t think a normal human being can do this. To crush a man with a car? This is unbelievable. I have personally contacted the CP Edo on this. We need to take urgent action on this matter. It’s strange to me as a person.”
