BREAKING: PDP Governor escapes death as Truck runs into Convoy [PHOTO]

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri narrowly escaped death on Saturday after a speeding truck rammed into two vehicles on his convoy.

The incident happened shortly after the governor and some of his commissioners entered a black Mercedes bus after attending a wedding at Agga Mosque in Dougirei highbrow area of Yola, the state capital.

The tipper truck crushed two vehicles in the convoy, leaving two policemen identified as Inspector Madu and Sergeant Isa injured.

The truck driver had managed to steer the speeding truck away from the direction of the bus conveying the governor to hit the official vehicle of the permanent secretary, Political and Security Affairs at the government house, and a Peugeot 406 conveying a video journalist and the two injured policemen.

Police escorts swiftly manhandled and detained the elderly driver as well as a young man who pleaded with them to take it easy with him. The driver was thrown in to a police pick up van and whisked away to Jimeta Police Division in the metropolis.

However, the governor who came out unhurt, personally rebuked the driver after which he was hurriedly transferred to a Toyota jeep and left the scene.

This development is coming a day after the Governor secured a victory in court after a case challenging his 2023 governorship candidature was quashed by the Supreme Court.
