A member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chinyere Igwe has been arrested by Security Agents with $500,000 Cash.
Igwe, a serving member who represents Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, was intercepted with the huge sum of money and immediately detained.

Police Officers from Rivers State Command deployed to INEC Headquarters Aba Road today 24/2/2023 at about 0245hrs, while on stop and search, arrested one Hon Chinyere Igwe, member House of Representatives Port Harcourt II Federal Constituency with a cash sum of 498,100 USD inside a bag in his car. I watched a member of house of representatives on TV who said that the law allowed him to hold #70m or #700m to spend during elections. He also said that the same law allowed presidential candidate to spend #1b for cash payment for agents they engaged. If that’s true does it mean that our law is faulty. Where are we when this law was passed or written. The public need to contribute in affairs of next assembly.
