The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the suspension of ASP Drambi Vandi over the killing of Bolanle Raheem.
This was contained in a statement on Thursday signed by the spokesperson of the commission, Ikechukwu Ani. The suspension comes hours after a recommendation by Usman Baba, the inspector-general of police (IGP).
Raheem, who was pregnant at the time of her death, was shot on December 25 in the Ajah area of Lagos state. Her death sparked severe criticism of the Nigerian Police across Social Media.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu met with the IG Usman Baba earlier today over the matter.
The Suspension takes effect immediately.
