A popular militant leader, Friday Igbegbe has committed suicide in Ogbe-Ijoh, warri wouth-west local government area, Delta state.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that Igbegbe had been battling with depression for a very long time.
He left behind 36 children and several wives. It was gathered that the deceased has previously been taken to a rehabilitation centre in Ogbomoso, Oyo State over alleged obsession with drugs.
He was meant to spend 6 months in the rehab facility but secretly escaped and returned fully to addiction.
All efforts to rescue him failed until his unfortunate death last Saturday. “We tried to help him. But the thing had gotten into his system. We took him to somewhere in Ogbomoso for rehab, but he ran away in less than three months.”
“He was supposed to spend three months, but ran back home. He killed himself about three months after he left the centre, leaving behind about 36 children.”, an eyewitness stated.
Yes why would a government which is for the masses, be taking side when it comes to justifying issues, if a person is a culprit or a victim, should be treated in the same way in order to serve as a deterence.
