President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday afternoon, held a closed-door meeting with all the 36 state governors of the Federation.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the meeting was focused on the security challenges in some parts of the country. The President is also scheduled to also address the National Assembly on the same issue on Thursday.
The meeting is coming days after the gruesome killing of rice farmers in Borno state. Babagana Zulum, governor of the state, had said his counterparts had resolved to meet with Buhari over the security challenge.
Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti and chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), also confirmed the meeting during an interview with Channels TV on Sunday.
