The Supreme Court has declared that Dr Alex Otti is the duly elected governor of Abia state. ‘
The apex court, in its verdict, stated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) doesn’t have a right to question the nomination of Otti by Labour Party.
The court said the PDP is ”crying more than the bereaved” in the case.
”PDP doesn’t have a right to question the nomination of Alex Otti by Labour Party. They are crying more than the bereaved. This appeal shouldn’t have been taken up to this level,” a Supreme Court justice said.
During the governorship election in the state, Otti polled a total of 175,466 to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the PDP who scored 88,526.
