BREAKING: Supreme Court dismisses APM’s appeal against Gov Fubara

The Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal brought by the Allied People’s Movement (APM) challenging the electoral victory of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The five-member panel, headed by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, made this decision on Monday.

The APM, represented by counsel Innocent Kere, opted to withdraw their appeal during the proceedings, leading to its dismissal.

The five-member panel of the apex court led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun also reserved judgment in the appeal by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Patrick Tonye-Cole.

Tonye-Cole, among others, is asking the apex court to sack Fubara, adding that the governor did not resign as the state’s Accountant General under the deadline stipulated by the constitution and the Electoral Act.
