BREAKING: “They Are Going About Shooting at LG Chairmen” – Ex-Ikwerre LG Boss Nwanosike Cries Out [VIDEO]

The Immediate-past Executive Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike, has defied Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s directive, arriving at the council secretariat despite the governor’s order for Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGAs) to take over.

Nwanosike, a close ally of former governor Nyesom Wike, entered the LG Secretariat on Tuesday.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ikwerre has been one of the flashpoints in the ongoing political crisis in the state.

Speaking to the press, Nwanosike accused Fubara of sponsoring insecurity in the state. He claimed that the governor has armed youths who have attacked local government chairmen and police across the 23 council areas.

The chairman appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene.

The crisis has its roots in a court ruling recognizing a three-man House of Assembly, which annulled the tenure extension granted by the 27-member Assembly loyal to Wike.

Despite the ruling, chairmen have insisted on remaining in office for six more months.

  1. Those children whose tenure has expired and vowed not to leave office unless they add six months more should know that they are committing.
If the law enforcement would not force them out of office for whatever reason then the people of the land will give them the judgement they deserve.
Can Wike accept that when he was governor of the state for any local government chairman to disobey him not to talk of the fact that they are already going against the law.

  2. These Wike and his yesmen, na wa. Wike you were local govt chairman, chief of staff to Ameachi, governor, minister and now minister. what structure on earth are you struggling for in Rivers. Please nip this hullabaloo in the bud. Please.
