BREAKING: WAEC releases 2020 Examinations Timetable

The West African Examinations Council has released the timetable for the 2020West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The exams will start from August 17, 2020, through September 12, 2020. Below is a statement from the examinations body made available to POLITICS NIGERIA;

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria wishes to inform its stakeholders-schools, parents and candidate-that the Final International Timetable for the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020 has been released.

“The Council notes that several versions of the examination timetable have been in circulation and enjoins the general public to disregard them as they did not emanate from it.”

“The examination which has been slated to begin on Monday, August 17, 2020, will end on Saturday, September 12, 2020. The Council hereby urges the candidates to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the examination by shunning all acts of malpractice and obeying all Covid-19 protocols that have been put in place at the examination centres.”

“This is wishing the candidates success in the examination.”

The statement was signed WAEC Nigeria’s head of public affairs, Demianus Ojijeogu.

  1. Waec should know that covid-19 will certainly affect this year’s waec performance so they should consider that and adjust their scheme of marking.

  2. Waec should consider the fact that this year candidate have lack a lot of knowledge due to the covid 19

  3. Truth be told, WAEC should acknowledge the fact that the long break from rigorous academic studies must have set the brains of many candidates to a lower level of performance. It has never happened this way in recent times. The council should therefore revise its marking scheme by wearing it a garb of leniency. It is an appeal.
