The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has sacked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State.
A three-member panel of the court held that the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) breached the constitution by sponsoring Yusuf who was not a member of the party.
The panel upheld the judgement delivered by the tribunal which sacked Yusuf on September 20.
However, the APC approached the Tribunal, citing alleged electoral malpractice.
The tribunal had declared 165,663 votes of Yusuf, who contested under the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), invalid on the grounds that they were not signed or stamped by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The governor’s votes were then reduced to 853,939 while those of Nasir Ganuwa, his All Progressives Congress (APC) rival, remained at 890,705.
INEC had announced Yusuf winner of the March 18, 2023 election, after he garnered 1,019,602 votes to defeat Gawuna who got 890,705 of the votes cast.

Nigerian judiciary with it’s sentmental manner of passing judgments. Always cause chaos amongst Nigerians making most citizens to completely lost trust on them. So pathetic if this three members panel sacks the elected Kano state governor Abba Yusuf on the ground that he was sponsored by a different party,in order to pave way for APC. Nigerian judicial system is so corrupt.

Untill Nigerians realize that the judiciary is no more an independent arm of the government.

Untill we realize that a three-man, five-man and/or seven-man panel (in the name of jurists/judges/justices) is improper and can never decide the fate of thousands and millions of voters after they have received monetary gifts from corrupt politicians.

The issue is involid. How come did they get balot papers ? Up till 165 thousand plus which was not validated by INCE that means they stoled ballots because they too desperated to Rule & Allah have not him mandate. Me should all know that no one can force Allah. So Abba Yusuf should wait for the time Allah give not other way round.

Court of appeal did not sacked him because of ballots without stamps, they sacked him because he’s not a registered member of NNPP. And court are not in any case have a say for that only the party is to decide.
