Several Nigerians, including prominent figures, have reacted to the ailing health status of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.
POLITICS NIGERIA reported how Kyari, who recently arrived in Nigeria from Germany, tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Nigeria has recorded a total of 42 Covid-19 cases, two deaths, and two recoveries. The forty cases cut across patients from Abuja, Lagos, Edo, Oyo, Ekiti and Ogun states.
Sources in the Presidency have disclosed that Kyari has been indoors since the test result was announced.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, presidential media aides are yet to deny the reports or speak on Kyari’s test result.
However, former Vice president, Atiku Abubakar, Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode and Former Kogi senator, Dino Melaye have sympathised with Kyari.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari. Allah ya kare mu gabaki daya, kuma ya bashi lafiya,” Abubakar posted on Twitter.

The former Aviation minister also posted: “I just confirmed that my old friend & brother Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to Pres. Buhari has tested positive to Covid 19.
“I sincerely & honestly wish him well &pray for a quick recovery for him just as I do for all other Nigerians that have tested positive, including @atiku’s son.

Nonetheless, in the reactions obtained from social media, some sympathised with Kyari while others chastised him for not isolating himself after arriving in the country from Germany.
POLITICS NIGERIA gathered that Kyari was one of the presidential emissaries who visited Governor Yayah Bello on March 17, following the demise of his mother.

Me I am just happy that the president tested negative. We cannot have that man with all his conditions getting it. And no matter how useless he is, Nigeria cannot afford that crisis.
