The Federal Government has asked 14 Chinese medical doctors, that arrived in Nigeria to join the battle against COVID-19, to go into 14-days isolation.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported that the doctors arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday evening.
The visiting Chinese medical experts who are in the country on the invitation of the CCECC, were received by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, accompanied by the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr Zhou Pingjian.
Speaking to reporters at the airport, Minister of Health, Dr Ehanire, said the team will be quarantined for two weeks.
He said: “They knew that before they came and have undergone tests before they left their country.
“Nevertheless, they will be in quarantine for 14 days. The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has gone to see where they will be quarantined.”
Ehanire added: “The equipment (they brought) will assist a lot to fill some existing gaps. We now have 50 more ventilators.”
