A governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has obtained his expression of interest and nomination forms.
The former Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG) had earlier arrived at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja about 11:56 am in the company of his supporters to pick the forms for the election slated for September 19, 2020.
Ize-Iyamu was received by some of the party’s national officers including the APC National Vice Chairman (South-South), Hilliard Eta
This development is coming after Ize-Iyamu emerged as a consensus candidate of the APC faction in Edo State on Tuesday night in Abuja.
This newspaper learned that the faction of the National Chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, is supporting Ize-Iyamu to be the governor of the Edo state. He will contest with Governor Godwin Obaseki for the direct primary of the party slated for June 22.
