President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a closed door meeting with Nigeria’s Defense minister,Major General Bashir Magashi (retd.), and the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the meeting held inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday evening. it’s currently unclear the agenda of the meeting but sources reveal it may be related to the current #EndSARS protests going on nationwide.
As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency has yet to issue a statement on the meeting. The #EndSARS protests against police brutality and bad governance have been going on in different states for almost two weeks now.
Earlier today, Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu issued a curfew in order to quell violence that has broken out in the state as a result of thugs attacking protesters. In Edo state on Monday, Thugs posing as protesters broke into two correctional facilities freeing over 1500 prisoners.
