Former Senate President and Secretary General to the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim is still in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over his involvement in a N780 million Fraud.
Anyim has been held since Sunday afternoon by anti-graft operates and is being questioned in an ongoing probe of a former Aviation Minister, Senator Stella Oduah.
The politician is being interrogated in respect to a N780 million aviation ministry’s fund that suspiciously found its way into a company in which he is a director.
His detention is coming shortly after Oduah was named in the Pandora Papers as one of 10 Nigerians hiding wealth in tax havens.
The EFCC is believed to have commenced a probe of Oduah and others named in the report.
He was also quizzed on the nature of his relationship with Oduah. POLITICS NIGERIA learned that Anyim would be released once he gives satisfactory answers to the commission’s investigators.
Judgment day. Anyone of them quizzed or taken to court by EFCC over genuine corrupt cases is done in this earth.
