Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation has knocked the former governor of Lagos State and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for sitting to greet the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The controversial politician was reacting to a viral picture showing Tinubu sitting down to greet the monarch while the Ooni stands to greet him at the coronation of the Oniru of Iruland, Oba Omogbolahan Lawal.
Reacting in a post on his Twitter account on Thursday, Fani-Kayode wondered why Tinubu would refuse to stand up to greet the traditional ruler and not prostrate. According to the former minister, Tinubu’s behaviour was deeply insulting to every Ife son and daughter.
He wrote: “That the Asiwaju of Bourdillon refused to stand up to greet the Ooni of Ife speaks volumes.
“This was not only deeply insulting to every Ife & indeed son & daughter of Odua but it is also a crying shame.
“Would a northern political leader refuse to stand up for his traditional ruler?”

Fani Kayode should keep quiet rather than showing his shameless face for attacking a journalist for asking a simple question. What could be more disgraceful and disrespectful than the way he attacked the man that was just doing his job. The ideal thing is for a man who claims to be Alfa and Omega was to be polite and not betrayed his emotions that way irrespective……. He’s so proud and full of himself. I am not a politician and would not support a situation where our traditions and culture will be destroyed but Bola Ahmed Tinubu has added tremendous value to so many lives in this world while the master of ceremony is known for jagons. He’s not the right person to talk about disrespect at the moment.
The man feels he is GOD now he is the one installing kings now if he want oni of ife can be dethroned tomorow.so how can he respect them.he is the one installing the oniru too.that one will go and prostrate for him inside the palace, and you are worrying yourself.
HRM is a very humble person and a lover of peace.
So people should reciprocate his rare gesture where ever they come in contact with HRM.
What Nigeria need now is more than rebuking somebody for not portraying for a traditional ruler, we need solution the problems of insecurity, unemployment, poor economy and poverty which are currently ravaging the country.
