Helicopter crash: Wigwe University board reacts to death of founder, Herbert Wigwe

The Board of Wigwe University has reacted to the tragic loss of its founder, Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Mrs. Doreen Wigwe, and son, Mr. Chizi Wigwe, who lost their lives in a helicopter accident in the United States on February 9, 2024.

In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), the university expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate incident.

The institution acknowledged his unwavering dedication to education, considering it a catalyst for Africa’s future advancement.

Despite the somber circumstances, the university’s Board of Trustees assured stakeholders, including students, faculty, and staff, that it would continue to uphold Dr. Wigwe’s vision for the institution.

The statement emphasized that the founder’s dreams and aspirations for Wigwe University would be honoured and fulfilled.

Wigwe University expressed gratitude for the strong foundation laid by Dr. Wigwe and pledged to maintain the standards of academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact that he envisioned.

The institution conveyed condolences to Dr. Wigwe’s children, parents, family, and loved ones, acknowledging the profound loss of a visionary leader in the field of education.
