Buba Galadima, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), has insisted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, won the February 23, 2019 election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that in an interview published recently by Premium Times Hausa, Galadima maintained that there was massive rigging and intimidation of voters.
He alleged connivance between some Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) and state governments.
Atiku, a former vice president of Nigeria, lost Kano State in the last general elections despite the huge crowd that welcomed him at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Emir’s Palace and Sani Abacha Stadium. But Galadima stated that President Muhammadu Buhari was bent on winning at all costs.
“I can swear with Holy Qur’an that Atiku won the 2019 presidential election. Remember when President Buhari was asked by a pressman at that time, “will you congratulate the winner if you don’t win?” he replied that he is the one who would win,” Galadima, an elder statesman, said.
While President Buhari is term-limited and cannot seek re-election again, Atiku is contesting again.
