“It Was Accidental” — Congolese Education Minister Opens Up After Impregnating Deputy

Tony Mwaba Kazadi, the Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education (EPST) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has admitted to impregnating his Deputy Minister, Aminata Namasia.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that he described the situation as “accidental”.

Reports have emerged revealing that Kazadi and Namasia, despite being married, developed romantic feelings for each other while working together in the DRC’s education ministry.

The affair between the two officials, which resulted in the deputy education minister’s pregnancy, was initially disclosed by DRC journalist Lungila John on Twitter, according to The Heritage Times.

The revelation has sparked strong criticism from the citizens of DRC, who accuse Kazadi and Namasia of displaying immoral and inappropriate behavior.

Expressing their dismay, Archy Lema, a Twitter user and Congolese citizen, referred to their actions as a source of shame for the country. Lema stated that Namasia is not fit to provide education to young women in the nation.

Another citizen of the DRC commented that if politicians, particularly Kazadi and Namasia, wish to be addressed as “excellencies” or “honourables,” their conduct should have been more exemplary and honorable, given their popularity and wealth, unlike many other Congolese individuals.

This newspaper learnt that Namasia was appointed as the National Deputy Minister of Primary, Secondary, and Technical Education in the Democratic Republic of Congo under Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde’s cabinet on April 12, 2021.
