The All Progressives Congress (APC) has screened the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), and six other aspirants ahead of the state governorship primary.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that aspirants already screened by the Screening Committee for the state Governorship primary are Amb. Joseph Olusola Iji; Chief Odimayo Okunjimi; Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelaml; Chief Issacs Kekemeke Duerlminl and Chief Olusola Oke.
It was learned that the exercise took place at an undisclosed hotel in Utako suburb area of the Federal Capital, Abuja on Wednesday.
Reacting to his screening on his Facebook page, governor Akeredolu commended the screening panel for being thorough and professional.
He said, “I have just undergone screening by my party @OfficialAPCNg. Members of the committee were thorough, scrutinizing all documents amongst other questions. I believe the party made excellent choices for the committee members. Very professional and courteous.”
This newspaper reports that Gov. Mai Mala Buni- led Caretaker Committee settled for indirect primary in line with an earlier letter written to the INEC by the Adams Oshimohole-led NWC before it was sacked.
