Bayern Munich on Thursday suspended Sadio Mane for physically assaulting his teammate Leroy Sane.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the incident occurred in the dressing room following Bayern’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City on Tuesday.
According to sources, Mane was unhappy with Sane’s behaviour on the pitch and confronted him after the game. It was learnt Mane punched Sane in the face, resulting in a bloody lip.
Despite the Mane’s actions, reports indicate that Bayern Munich has opted not to terminate his contract. Instead, they have imposed a suspension on the Senegalese international until further notice.
“The reason is Mané’s misconduct after FC Bayern’s Champions League game against Manchester City. In addition, Mané will receive a fine,” a statement by the club reads.
