JUST IN: Court fixes date to hear Atiku’s corruption charges

The Federal High Court, Abuja Division, has fixed March 7, 2023, to begin the hearing case to investigate and possibly charge Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the forthcoming election.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Justice James Kolawole Omotosho also directed that all court processes be served on Atiku by dropping them at his campaign office or pasting them on its premises.

It would be recalled that the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo (SAN), sued Atiku over a new corruption allegation against him.

Keyamo had on January 16 issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Conduct of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) to arrest the opposition presidential flag-bearer.

In a petition dated January 16, Keyamo, also the junior minister for Labour and Employment, asked the anti-graft agencies to arrest the former vice president on offences of money laundering, breach of the code of conduct for public officers, conspiracy, and criminal breach of trust and misappropriation.

He hinged both his petition and suit on the allegations made by Michael Achimugu, who claimed to be a former aide to the PDP candidate.

Achimugu, in a series of social media posts, accused Atiku of using Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) to commit fraud.

Keyamo stated that Achimugu provided substantial evidence to corroborate his allegations against the PDP candidate and former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

With the expiration of the ultimatum and without any action taken by the anti-corruption agencies by January 19, Keyamo on January 20 filed his suit at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

  1. Festus Keyamo MADE TRUE AND FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH HIS RESOLVE TO TAKE Atiku TO COURT OVER CORRUPTION ALLEGTIONS.

Unlike the garrulous empty boasting so called lawyer of the PDP candidate, a Bullla or Bulwaya or whatever he calls himself. It is all noise and always empty barrel shouts over nothing

Keyamo has challenged the opposition several times to go to court over their allegations against Tinubu, if they have any.
