JUST IN: Jigawa State Commissioner for Commerce is dead [PHOTOS]

The Jigawa State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Alhaji Salisu Zakar, is dead, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

Until his death, Zakar served Jigawa State in different capacities. From civil service, he rose to the position of Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), and later the Commissioner of Commerce.

He died on Friday at the Aminu Kano Teaching hospital, in Kano State after a brief illness.

His funeral will take place on Saturday at the Emir’s Palace in Hadejia town by 11 am.

Reacting to Zakar’s demise, Gaddafi Abba Umar, the Council Secretary Buji Local Government Area (LGA), said in a statement: “The sudden death of Honourable Salisu Zakar Hadejia is a great loss to Jigawa State government and Nigeria in general.

“We pray to the God Almighty grant him eternal rest and may Aljanna Fiddaus be his final bode.
