JUST IN: Northwest Governors shut down schools over coronavirus pandemic


Following the recent outbreak of Coronavirus in Nigeria, the Northwest Governors under the aegis of Northwest Zone Governors’ Forum have agreed to shut down their schools for 30 days to avoid widespread of the disease.

The agreement was reached on Wednesday at their meeting in Kaduna.

The Chairman of the Forum and Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, who read the resolution, said the need to close down was necessitated to avoid spread of coronavirus.

According to reports, the closure takes effect from March 23, 2020.

The governors also agreed to take proactive step against public gatherings..L

Nigeria records the youngest victim, a six-week-old baby who came into Nigeria with her mother from the U. S. One other patient also came from America.

Before now, POLITICS NIGERIA reported how the Federal Government banned travels from 13 countries with high coronavirus cases. It also banned travels of public officials and suspended visa on arrival policy.

It expected that all persons returning from overseas self-isolate themselves for observation for 14-days.
