The National University Commission (NUC) in Abuja has recently awarded operating licenses to Azman University in Kano, Kano State, El-Amin University in Minna, Niger State, and 35 other private universities across the country.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that El-Amin University, owned by El-Amin Nigeria Limited, boasts of General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (Rtd) as its Chairman of Trustees.
Similarly, Azman University is owned by Azman Group of Companies Limited, a prominent player in the oil industry. The Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Azman University is Barr. Ado Muhammad Ma’aji. Notably, the company recently diversified its portfolio by launching an airline before securing the license to venture into the education sector.
