The Governing Board Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), Kwara State, Mallam Habidu Yazid Rafindadi, is dead.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the demise of the Katsina-born intellectual happened in Abuja, the Nigerian capital city, after a brief illness.
His demise is coming barely two weeks after he announced the outcome of the selection process for the new Vice Chancellor of UNILORIN, Prof. Wahab Egbewole.
Rafindadi, a former Head of Service to the old Kaduna State, replaced the present Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Gambari as the Board Chairman of Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development (SCDDD) before his appointment as the Governing Board Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of UNILORIN last year.
