The All Progressives Congress (APC) vice-presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Senator Kashim Shettima, has said that his party will permanently retire the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag-bearer, Atiku Abubakar, to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next year.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Shettima spoke at a town-hall meeting and dialogue with the business community in Lagos State on Tuesday.
“I respect Atiku Abubakar, but he is someone who cannot unite his own party. I wonder how he is going to unite this nation.
“Atiku Abubakar is not Abraham Lincoln (former U.S. President), he is more of Raila Odinga (former Prime Minister of Kenya). And come next year, we are going to retire the political tourist back to Dubai,” Shettima, a former governor of Borno State, said.
Some of the guests at the event include Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos; former House Speaker, Dimeji Bankole; former Ogun governor, Segun Osoba; APC national women leader, Betta Edu; governors Nasir El-Rufai, Biodun Oyebanji, and Mohammed Badaru of Kaduna, Ekiti, and Jigawa states respectively.
