“More deadly attacks await you” – Youth Coalition hails assault on Reno Omokri

A group known as the National Youth Coalition has hailed the assault on a former Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri in New York on Saturday.

Omokri was attacked by an unknown assailant shortly after organising a protest against President Muhammadu Buhari. Omokri, who spoke on the incident claims that he was saved by his Bodyguard, Sean.

The group, in a statement on Sunday, signed by its national coordinator, Mr. Olugbenga Michael, stated that Omokri should ‘expect’ more deadly attacks if he continues to embarrass Nigeria before the international community.

The group added that the said the assault “is not attack against freedom of speech, movement or association as the case may be, but a legal way of defending the honour and glory of the country as enunciated in the fourth paragraph of the National Pledge of Nigeria which reads: “To defend her unity, and uphold her honour and glory, so help me God.”

“This is the oath of allegiance that every Nigerian have taken and which we are committed to enforcing voluntarily because we believe we have no other country to call home if Nigeria fails.”

“At this point, we wish to state categorically that we have no affinity or association with the Nigerian Government directly or indirectly, but we are young people of Nigeria who are inspired by how Americans are ready to die in defence of America and will do everything possible to ensure that America’s Union works perfect in line with the dreams of their founders.”

“Hence, we are young people who came together to turn our diversity into strength thereby making Nigeria to work for all Nigerians irrespective of class, Creed, political party or association. Our membership is open to all those who believe in the unity, indivisibility, progress and prosperity of all Nigerians and are willing to defend the letter and the spirit of the article of faith enshrined in our National Pledge and the National Anthem because the future of Nigeria belongs to us.”

  1. Amokri he is just a fool, fooling himself thinking is doing special thing, his currupt mothan anybody, where did he got his money using it to travel outside the country, is it his salary is spending?

  2. Mr writer, which country you said you are defending? How can a sane person as you claim to be, will be shielding evil because of bloody money you got from bad leaders from Nigeria.

  3. The statement is not but an appeasement from a political jobber to please his masters. Can you compare the youth marginalisation, unfair treatment, inequality, unemployment and poverty in Nigeria with what American youths are going through? The American youths are ready to die for their country because the country is ready to die for any American citizen. The national anthem you cited how many of the political elites are living up the oath of office they took? The highest defilement, abominations and attriocities against our nation-state symbols, unity and identity are committed by the political elites and security forces. The national flag was painted with blood of Nigerian youths in October 2020. Recently in Calabar an army officer disrespected the our national symbol of unity. It is unfortunate that most youths have not realised why Nigeria is where it is.

  4. This group has no sound ideology to establish and define her purpose and has no understanding about what guarantee the unity of a nation. Reno is not fighting Nigeria unity as u portray, Reno is fighting the clueless, nepotic, tribalistic, failed economy, poverty riden, highly corruption promoted government of president buhari. I am so disappointed by this politically motivated group who do not represent the aspirations, dreams and hopes of nigerian youth.
True Nigerians youths are behind the good fight of Mr Reno Omokri

  5. This is the most sensible action l have seen against Reno Omokri. Omokri continues to embarrass Nigeria before the international community under the pretense of fighting Buhari. Omokri stupidly and arrogantly think it’s all about him hence his disgusting quest for relevance.

  6. Who are those useless groups that knows all this laws of Nigeria anthems and pledges said but they have not come out in Nigeria to protest against bad government of buhari, insecurity in Nigeria and all this killings and abduction of fulani headsmen, economic failure and many others but they will come here to start saying rubbish. If they want peace and unity in Nigeria they should come out speak against what fulani are doing in Nigeria by using boko haram and headsmen to kill and abducted people. Animals like them… Reno omokri must be the voice of other Nigerians who will not speak ok.

  7. I don’t really know what is wrong with Nigeria I don’t how an individual will have the gult to be embarrassing the country pointing fingers at the president without fear and he will be kept quiet in the name of freedom of speech is there no limit in the so call freedom of speech

  8. Hurrah to the young people who are out to defend the integrity of Nigeria. Reno Omokri I maintain is a nuisance and a disgrace to Nigeria
He deserves whatever he got from the Patriots who attacked him in New York
I believe he is probably jobless
    He is a nuisance.

  9. Mr olugbenga Michael , ur nothing but a goat , that is best way to described u , y not come to Nigeria and try these nonsense , in 5second u will not believe wat will happen to u , ur not represent any youth ,I believe ur represent ur aboki friend and ur pocket , omoale jatijati

  10. where are this youth before Nigeria got to this point? pms from less than #80 to above #160 and a dollar less than #180 to above #480? where are they when killing of innocent citizens been kill on daily basis, unemployment hot and the level it is today? upholding of her honour and unit at what point? may god help us at what pointe? stop parsicut ingredient for better growths

  11. I have never liked violence for any reasons and so lost for words on the Reno attack. I have always disliked this so-called pastor’s penchant for denigrating the country’s image with our stolen and looted funds under the guise of protest. I am yet to understand that his grandstanding in foreign countries would turn things around at home. I call for calm on the side of the true nationalists and sue Reno to read the Bible again on what true Christians should do about leaders of government, PMB inclusive. A word is enough for the wise.

  12. Youths for your pocket, Touch him and see if the real youths of Nigeria will not revolt. Can you say you better off in Nigeria today

  13. Omokri is carrying out a heavy contract of harassing PMB that may go with his life ,this is just too of the ice bag .And if there is one sound reasoning thought up by Nigerians in diaspora is want they have done to this sellout

  14. My question is, Nigeria today, is it acceptable to all of us as things stand.if the way we do things are not working why don’t we try other way for a better country, I stand by unity.

  15. This is quite a pity.Nigerians, we can’t do things the right way.Just like our government, we attack in the dark.

  16. Those hired thuggees that attacked Reno Omokri will definitely pay someday for their evil done against the suffering Nigerians.
