The wife of the Ondo State Governor, Mrs Betty Akeredolu, has suspended activities lined up to celebrate her 70th birthday.
Mrs Akeredolu, in a recent tweet, announced that the birthday celebration had been suspended ‘due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control’.
The tweet reads:
“Hello, Family and Friends. This is to inform you that all activities lined up to mark my 70th birthday are hereby suspended till further notice due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this development.
“Nevertheless, be assured that I will be celebrated in style upon my return. Thank you for your understanding. I remain Arabinrin a.k.a Ada Owerri I.”
Politics Nigeria earlier reported that the health status of Governor Akeredolu had generated mixed reactions from different quarters.
The Ondo State government recently denounced the report, attributed to the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, regarding the health of the Governor.
Meanwhile, several media outlets quoted the APC chairman stating that Governor Akeredolu was incapacitated and receiving medical treatment abroad.
However, in a swift response, the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, stated in Akure, the state capital, clarifying that the chairman’s words were taken out of context.
