Nigerian movie icon, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, has bragged about the achievements of the Nollywood industry.
The actress recently announced that Nollywood introduced the Nigerian Entertainment industry to the world way before Afrobeats started gaining grounds.
She made the revelation in a post on her Instagram page while reminiscing about her impact in Nollywood and the world before the emergence of social media.
She also shared old movie clips with some of her colleagues in the industry as proof of taking Nollywood to the world before the emergence of afrobeats.
Sharing the videos which had Rita Dominic, Genevieve Nnaji and Stella Damasus, Patience Ozokwo in them, Omotola said she felt nostalgic about them.
“Someone sent me some of these vids and it was nostalgic, lol,” Omotola wrote.
“Despite the not-so-great quality, no social media, these movies mroke barriers. Way nefore Afrobeats, we introduced Nigerian entertainment to the World. We took on the world. we still.”
