Several Nigerians on social media have aired their opinions on the response of Bola Tinubu, All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, defending the suspended party chair, Adams Oshiomhole.
Tinubu made his stance known on Sunday amidst the kerfuffle generated by the suspension of Oshiomhole and plots to remove him as the Chairman.
Also, it should be noted that the choice of who to drive the party’s affairs has been controversial as a faction endorsed the national secretary, Victor Giadom.
Tinubu blamed the over ambitiousness of some members of the party, saying; “While Corona has been presently contained in Nigeria, we must be alert to another sickness that seems rampant within a certain segment of society. That sickness is old Ambition-virus 2023.”
“It is against this backdrop that we should view the present ploys and plots to undermine the APC National Chairman. The Chairman is human; thus, he has his merits as well as his flaws. Yet his humanity cannot be grounds for his dismissal. If so, the position will forever go vacant.”
Meanwhile, in the reactions gathered, some Nigerians alleged that the national leader was on Oshiomhole’s side because of his interest in the presidency while some lauded his intervention.
