The Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House in Abuja.
POLITICS NIGERIA had reported last Tuesday that Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, said it is his turn to be the Senate President of Nigeria.
Speaking to newsmen in Abuja at the time, Kalu imitated the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, by saying “it is my turn”.
This afternoon (Tuesday), he met with President Buhari, presented his certificate of return to the Nigerian leader, and informed him about his ambition to become the country’s next Senate President.
“I was received this afternoon by President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR) in the State House. It was an honour to present my certificate of return to Mr President and to thank him for the attention he gave Abia North Senatorial District in the last three years. I also intimated Mr President of my intention to run for the office of the Senate President in the 10th National Assembly,” Kalu wrote on his verified Facebook page.
