PDP Sacks Ekiti, Ebonyi States Executive With Immediate Effect

The internal crisis rocking the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reached a new height as the National Working Committee (NWC) has approved the immediate dissolution of the executive committees in Ebonyi and Ekiti states.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, June 7.

Ologunagba did not reveal the reason behind the dissolution but noted that the development was as a result of extensive deliberations and consultations by the NWC.

He also stressed that the decision was in line with Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the constitution of the party (as amended in 2017).

“After extensive deliberations and consultations, the National Working Committee (NWC) hereby approves the dissolution of the Executive Committees of the Ebonyi and Ekiti States Chapters of our great Party with immediate effect,” the statement said.

The party also charged all leaders and stakeholders in the state to remain united and be battle ready for the task ahead.
