The future of Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro hangs in the balance after his short-term contract expired with the conclusion of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Peseiro, 63, penned a six-month deal with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) last year, specifically tasked with guiding the Eagles to the AFCON semi-finals. He surpassed expectations by leading the team to the final, where they narrowly fell 2-1 to hosts Ivory Coast.
However, the pre-determined contract expiration leaves Peseiro’s future with the national team uncertain. Despite exceeding the initial objective, the NFF has yet to announce any decisions regarding his potential renewal.
