Police apprehend car wash operator over neighbour’s death


The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a car wash operator, Sherif Balogun, for allegedly killing his neighbour over the time for locking of house gate.

Itire Police station of the Lagos State Police Command said Faith Elebo, the daughter of the deceased reported the incident on 11th January at about 07: 20.

According to Faith, at about 0130hrs, Balogun who lives in the same compound, No 32 Ola street, with them had a fight with her father, Peter Elebo about the closing hour of the compound gate.

She alleged that an argument ensued between Balogun and her father. According to her, the car wash operator pushed down Elebo and he started vomiting blood and died on the spot.

Homicide detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer Itire, SP Barkfur Kromkyes visited the scene to ascertain the allegation.

They later took and deposited the corpse of the deceased in the mortuary for autopsy.

Police have also transferred the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, for discreet investigation and prosecution.
