Mayor of Huston, Sylvester Turner, has declared every July 7 as ‘Davido’s Day’ following the sold-out show in the city.
The Afrobeats singer, who is currently on tour for his new album, shut down the city of Texas as he performed at the Toyota Center in Houston.
Turner commended Davido for his significant contributions to the music industry.
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid, also has a day dedicated to him in the US.
The U.S. governor in 2018 declared every October 6th as Wizkid day.
Politics Nigeria recalls that Davido was recently conferred with a national honor award as Officer of the Niger (OON) by the federal government of Nigeria.
