Supreme Court reconvenes for judgment on Imo and Sokoto governorship polls

The Supreme Court has reconvened to deliver judgment on the governorship election appeals involving Imo and Sokoto states.

Recall that Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad, who heads the seven-man panel has said that the court will reconvene by 5:00 pm for judgement on the cases after parties in the various appeals had adopted the brief of argument.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Sokoto state during the March 9 poll, Ahmed Aliyu is challenging the election of Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who won on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

APC gubernatorial aspirant in Imo, Hope Uzodinma and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Ifeanyi Ararume are challenging the victory of Governor Emeka Ihedioha who also won on the platform of the PDP.
